MySpace - King of The Social Networking World

If you don’t already have a MySpace page yourself, you have definitely at least heard of this massively popular social networking website. There are literally millions of members and while MySpace has actually been around for some time now, it may appear to you as if it came out of nowhere and conquered the social networking scene online. MySpace is in fact one of the most popular websites on the planet.
It’s easy to get in on the phenomenon that is MySpace. You can sign up for an account free of charge and have your own MySpace membership in a matter of minutes. You can look at many MySpace pages without even having an account with the site, but other pages can be viewed only by members, so it’s better to sign up and make your own page; which allows you access to all of the features which MySpace has to offer.
Once you finish signing up for your free account on the site, you’ll want to make your profile page. There are premade profile templates which you can use to customize your page; these will generally include graphics to use for the background of your page as well as fonts. If you are familiar with HTML, you can also make your own designs to use on your profile page.
MySpace pages usually have an area where members give a little information such as age and city, along with some of their likes and dislikes. You can add to this section and include any additional information that you want. A lot of MySpace users also add music and video clips to their pages. There are some rules on what you cannot put on your page; this is listed in the terms of service agreement for the site.
After building your MySpace page, you can search through the other users by using keywords for location, interests and more. Once you find other users you’d like to be friends with, you can then invite them to your network, and you will more than likely be invited to other users’ networks as well.
MySpace has received a lot of press, not all of it so welcome. This social networking giant has become a concern for many parents, who fear for the privacy and safety of their children. Parents can choose to set their child’s MySpace profile to a non-public one, so that only those who have been invited may view their profiles. There are a number of other features which MySpace offers for security and privacy.
MySpace offers much more than older social networking websites like Friendster. MySpace can boast of including music videos, instant messaging, quizzes, chat rooms and many more. But to use all of these features, you’ll have to make a MySpace page first! You can sign up for your free page today at www.myspace.com.
