Sometimes, we want to be attracted to someone. While it’s often a bad idea to force an attraction, sometimes giving someone a chance can be the beginning of a meaningful relationship.
List the person’s positive qualities, such as humor, loyalty, compassion, or creativity. Think of specific examples.
List specific good things this person has done; such as helping one of your friends, giving aid to a stranger, or helping organize a volunteer project.
Thoroughly examine the person’s physical features and look for their most attractive points. Focus on their best features glowing skin, sparking eyes, or an athletic body.
Spend quality time together. Do activities you both like, or simply meet and talk. Actively listen to the person, and ask good questions.
Do a slightly stressful task together, such as organizing a volunteer project, trying a new activity, or doing something exciting together, like rock climbing or rafting. People who go through a somewhat stressful experience together tend to become attracted to each other and form lasting relationships.
Subtle changes can increase someone’s attractiveness. Try to encourage small positive changes.
Don’t force yourself to be attracted to someone you dislike, especially if you dislike them for a good reason.
Don’t ignore red flags, such as lying, verbal abuse, or self-destructive behaviors.
